Will You Go To Heaven When You Die? The Gospel in 60 Seconds
God created humans with a free will, allowing them to choose between good and evil. Adam and Eve disobeyed and chose evil. Sin entered the world and has been passed to each of us.
Romans 3:23 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23 talks about the penalty for being a sinner is eternal separation from God.
If your not sure you're a sinner ask yourself a few questions:
Have you ever lied?
Have you ever stolen something?
Have you ever looked at someone with sexual lust?
Have you ever used God’s holy name as a cuss word?
These are just 4 out of the 10 commandments also known as God’s moral law. If God were to judge you based on his moral law would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell?
No matter how many good things we have done, the reality is we are all guilty by God’s standards. But what about all the times you’ve been good? Just like in real life we are judged by the crimes we commit and not by the good things we do.
Romans 3:10 says "there is none righteous, no not one". Good works will not get you to heaven.
So here’s the gospel or good news. Jesus who is eternal and fully God became a man, lived a sinless life and died on the cross to pay the penalty for everyone’s sins.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36
To believe means to be convinced of something and to trust. He wants you to believe in him and follow his way of life so you can be reconciled with God, enjoy his peace while on earth, and go to heaven for eternity when you die.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
Salvation is a free gift. Do you want to accept his free gift?
ACTION: If you want to accept this free gift say a prayer similar to this:
Dear God, I know I have sinned against you and deserve the punishment of hell. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I accept this amazing gift and out of gratitude I want to live a life that honors you. Amen
Questions & Answers
Q1 If God were to ask you why should I not send you to hell for all the sins you have done, what would you say?
A: I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and on the third day rose again. He completely paid the penalty for my sins. I accept this gift.
Q2 If someone wants to give you a gift but says you need to give some money or do some work for it... is it really a gift? A: No, of course not.
Q3 If Jesus took 100% of your hell payment, how much would be left for you to pay?
A: 0%

A: C past present and future sins, Jesus paid for them all.
Q5 If you believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins but tomorrow do something sinful and later that day die, will you go to heaven or hell?
A: Heaven. When we place our belief and trust in Jesus, he justifies us and calls us righteous.
Romans 5:8-9: "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God."
2 Corinthians 5:21 - "For our sake he (God) made him (Jesus) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him (Jesus) we might become the righteousness of God."
Q6 So can I put my belief and trust in Jesus but keep living a sinful life?
A: Not exactly. Let me explain. Imagine you're dying of liver disease and in order to live you need a liver donor. You receive the liver donation and are now healthy. How would you feel towards that person who saved your life? Would you show respect and gratitude to that person? Jesus not only gives you peace while on earth but also the gift of eternal life in heaven after you die. A person who truly understands this gift will want to pursue a life that honors their Savior. Will you make mistakes and will it be challenging at times, of course. A person who hears the good news of the gospel but has no desire to live a life that honors God most likely doesn't comprehend the gift. Jesus talks about this in whats called the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13.
Q7 Matthew 7:21 Jesus said “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. What is the will of the Father?
A: John 6:40 And this is the will of the One who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him shall have everlasting life; and I will raise him up on the last day.”
John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
